MG6065
Sent forms off to them on the 21st of November and received today. Very impressed and happy. Heard some horror stories of very long delays! Sent off for Mentor removal, change of address and land restrictions removed(open licence). All granted no problems very straight forward. Haven't got a bad word to say about Devon and Cornwall processing times are very good and they seem to have good common sense, as opposed to a few other areas I've heard of. Very impressed. Got one question and I want your guys opinion on it, I'll be calling them tomorrow to ask but would like your opinions. I've held my firearms certificate for 3 years. I've got a 22lr, .17hmr and 222. I've held the 222 for 2 and a half years. As said earlier I've just had the mentor and land condition removed on this. If i were to apply for a 243 now do you think they will chuck mentoring and land conditions on this even though I have a 222 restriction free? Or will they grant this restriction free? Or make me do a dsc1? My mentor I had is a good friend and a rfd, I've been stalking alot with him and have good experience with calibres up to 300win mag. He made clear on my mentor letter I have experienced other calibres under his strict supervision etc. Obviously I'm hoping I can get it restriction free although most of the deer shooting I have available to me is on the same farm so land restrictions wouldn't be the end of the world but in an ideal world id like it mentor free and open. Is there really much difference in the safety precautions in a 222 and 243? A safe shot is a safe shot? In your guys experience what would you predict they would do? Luckyshot
Would have though it would come back with no restrictions but the only way to know for sure is to apply. Apart from my fac being closed for the first 7 months I've never had any other restrictions placed on it.
