Full length any case not fired in your rifle after that just neck size you only need to full size if you have problems with tight cases start your loads 10% lower than max load ( you might be amazed at how tight they shoot ) keep the jump to the lands as small as you can ignore overall length in the loading books just use this as a starting point accursay normally comes from the jump to the lands

Thanks that is very interesting point you made how far off of lands do you aim for 10 thou close enough?

From memory, my .223 Rem rounds are about 8 thou from the lands. Only FL size as per "Deer Shooters" advice.

I've never crimped any of it's rounds ever. With that in mind, my Tikka T3 will shoot half inch 4 shot groups at 100 yards all day long. My best being a .2", but i have to admit to having perfect weather conditions that day.
