NorfolkAYA
Hi all, just wondering what combo everyone is using in there 20b, majority of my shooting is rough shooting and odd clay. The cartridges I use are 24grm 6. Currently using 1/4 and 1/2 as I was using that in 12b. Just wondering if I should change to 1/2 and 3/4. Cheers pete
Westley
It probably is not much help, but I shot my Beretta 20 bore fixed choke for the first time on clays today, using 21 grams of 8's. I have had the gun for nearly 12 months but due to illness, it has not been out of the cabinet. It dusted most of the targets that I shot at, including a high teal that the wind was pushing out to around 40 yards. I think the chokes are standard Beretta fixed choke, which I believe are 1/4 and 1/2. As I am unable to change them, I will just shoot the gun and not worry about the chokings. I believe that for the use you are putting your 20 bore to, stay with the 1/4 and 1/2 combo. To go tighter would be more of a handicap and could lead to you making more soup with your birds. Paul T
I still use 1/4 and 1/2 in my 20 bore. At 30 yards it seems to pattern well so I have no reason to tighten it up any.

Also, a mate with 20 bore Beretta has always used 1/4 1/4 to good effect.
Big Mat
I put 1/4 and 1/2 in the one I've just got and when I had a round a clays with it they seemed fine for me! One question, where are you getting your cartridges from as I need to stock up?

NorfolkAYA
Yeah that have a good range in there, best local gun shop by far I think. I picked up a 100 tonight and paid £21 👍
cpaulc
I think I'm right in saying that a full choke should get 70%(ish) of pattern in a 30inch diameter at 40yds. - so therefore if your using a 28g load in either a 20guage or 12 the results should be the same. (Please correct me if I'm wrong here.)
