I got one of these for xmas and have just about given up on it.

I have spent ages trying to get a edge on some of the knives I have made.

Is there a secret knack to this kit? or have I fallen for hype here?

Watched the you tube tutorials followed them to the letter and I just cannot get the thing to put even a slightest edge on a dull blade.

Anyone on here offer some pointers?

thanks for the advice chaps. with a bit of jigery pokery and info here I have now got it to work. And work it does.

it says that setting 25 is best for hunting/bushcraft/fishing knives, After trying all the settings on a volunteer knife I found setting 30 to give the best results :good:

I think the problem would have been the knives had the wrong angle on the cutting edge, thus you have better results with a steeper angle, if you kept at it at 25 degrees you will get there and with the most useful type edge for a hunting knife.
