shot a lovely hen pheasant yesterday that i put out of a bramble thicket and over a large hawthorne, curled on a strong wind and dropped to my first barrel. decided to try something different with it, cooked a chinese pheasant soup, it easy peasy to make and tasted delicious. so here goes!

about 1.5 litre chicken stock cube or the real stuff, i used oxo cubes and tastes fine, add a dash of chinese 5 spice to taste, bring to simmer add raw pheasant meat cut into thin half centimetre strips, good handfull of spring onion and good handfull raw chow mien or oodon noodles simmer for couple of mins and Voila.

my daughter has just come in from school and she agrees that it tastes fab!

Looks good. :good:

I make a similar soup with praws or chicken but for added flavour normally I throw in some thinly sliced garlic, fresh ginger, fresh red chillies, and a handful of peas or sweetcorn - oh, and a splash of soy. Delicious.

I shot a pheasant today too so maybe I'll give it a go.
