FOXHUNTER1 Posted January 31, 2016 Report Share Posted January 31, 2016 Friday saw me heading out in storm Gertrude not hopeful at all. I was looking to bag my 1st squig of the year but I thought I would struggle. On rounding a copse I spied a squirrel just sat nice and cosy out of the wind which was duly brought crashing to earth ... Continuing on my round sticking inside the wood which was sheltered from the wind I managed another couple ...... Gertrude had brought a few trees down ... For the last hour I waited in a small copse waiting to see if any pigeons came to roost , not many but I got a few ... Saturday saw me on the last game shoot of the season .....blowing a gale and freezing cold but had a great day accounting for pheasants ,ducks and a brace of woodcock. 2 nice driven woodcock ......
