Could anyone give me some advise on a good scope for a Weihrauch 80.I've had the rifle for about 10 years but it's never had a scope on it and i see that scopes have to be spring rated for use with this rifle.

I'm prepared to spend about £200 on the scope.

Any advise is appreciated.

Cheers.

Whatever scope you choose make sure its spring gun rated, especially if its FAC, its up to you what kind of magnification you choose £200 isnt going to limit you, Hawke have some nice scopes in the 100-200 range, but I would advise you to get a dampa mount or 1 piece as spring gun can hammer scopes.

A simmons wtc 3.5x10-50 is the best scope under 200 squid for ur HW80. if u have owned the gun that long i would get it checked over by a gunsmth just incase

Got my scope today and a Promount 1 piece dampa mount.

Any tips on sighting it in m8.

Where did you get the Gas Ram from for £50,The one on the theoben site is £110.

There are some for £60 but the HW80 is not listed.

Also have you got a silencer fitted?

I've just got a theoben evo silencer for mine but when you take the post site off the gun the grove's are a bit proud of the barrel so the silencer won't fit.

Is it better to file down the groves or file a bit off the silencer?

I got my Gas ram of a mate who is a gunsmith hence the price.

I have got a silancer but its a webley silancer.

my guns a carbine so i didnt have open sights to worry about but i would take a bit off the barrel. the only probs with that is it might start rusting but it should be ok if u keep it clean.

as for sighting mine is set at 30 yards just make sure there is no wind i rested my gun on a pillow and shot lying down its a lot better.

get a normal a4 peice of paper and put a dot in the middle job done.

good luck m8 keep me posted.
