Ricko
Hi, I've bought my son's iPad off the school, how do I reset it completely and set it up for myself? Cheers
grrclark
If you have access to the device then within Settings, General there is an option to reset the device to factory settings.

grrclark
There will be an icon for that on the screen somewhere, it will look like cog wheels.

Ricko
It says it's still configured by the school? Can I change this? (My son gave up with helping me!)
timd999
As grrclark said, you need to go to 'Settings', then 'General', then 'Reset', then 'Reset all Settings'

ShootingEgg
If it is linked to icloud then the school are the only people who can unlock. / Reset the device. Do not put the passcode in wrong ten time's!!!
robbiep
My apologies if I was incorrect. I was under the impression that doing that would wipe the device. On second thoughts, it would be a stupid way of having the device set up.

NickS
If you place it in a pan of boiling water for 10 minutes, it will remove all of the previous settings. NO!! DO NOT DO THAT! Edited February 28, 2016 by NickS
Budice
I think you'll find they are configured specifically to/by the school. There is a limited amount you can do on them other than school work. You'll need to speak to the school about it. Also to those saying go to settings, this may well be hidden from the main screen menu
