Jay_Russell
I've got a tour of Highclere castle coming up (Downton abbey ) with the wife end of may I think. They just happen to have a game fair on that weekend too ☺

panoma1
Ragley is in a nice location but it all depends on the content of the gamefair, I remember going the the Warks and West Mids Gamefair there some years ago and it was rubbish. The Midland used to be the best gamefair, but I stopped going several years ago as it was too expensive to get in and due to the high cost of renting a sales stand to the traders, there were no bargains on offer!.....thats why the CLA went mamories up! Let's hope in the wake of the CLA's demise the new ones starting up forget the irrelevant stands, funfairs and circus's and go back to the old game fair values? And hopefully don't try to replicate their predecessors apparant attempts to rip the punters off.
Teal
At present, in my personal opinion, it's hard to see any of the "new" CLA replacement fairs being a success. Regardless of their individual merits and pricing. I think a lot of traders/visitors will keep their hand in their pockets this year, and save on the significant potential for disappointment, and stick to an established big fair, or go to whichever is the closest. In my opinion the situation that led to the sprouting of all these fairs was a symptom of how poor the CLA's management of the Game Fair had become. I said at the time, it should have been handed over as a fait accompli to a new organisation/company, and bring with it any existing goodwill and kudos. Shutting the door on the shenanigans and ego trips of various different organisers who wanted to launch their own. The CLA probably would have got a wedge of money for it too. Whereas now it is a mess.
rjimmer
According to an Email from Guntrader, the Ragley Hall event has attracted a lot more exhibitors than the Stoneleigh event. When they were going to be on the same weekend, I was going to Stoneleigh, but now I'm not so sure.
panoma1
In the early days of gamefairs the bargains and deals were there to be struck......let's not forget they are after all trade fairs!....lately with the exorbitant cost of a stand to traders, these bargains all but disappeared........nowadays they can't compete with Internet traders, so have gamefairs, as we know them, had their day?
