kingo15
I very much doubt it. Easiest way to tell normally is from the email it's sent from tbh. We had one from PayPal. Looked very authentic until i checked the senders email. The first part said paypal but the rest was so obvious.

ozzy518
sounds like a phishing email. Never use any link on a general email, go to the official site and do stuff there.
Sussexboy
The message alleges that eBay has reset your password. Can you log into eBay with your normal password as usual? If so the note is pure apple sauce, as you obviously suspect.
robbiep
1) I have NOT clicked any links on this email. 2) I HAVE changed my password to my email account 3) I tried to log into ebay from googling it and can not I haven't done anything else. 7daysinaweek
i have had several of these exact emails in the past and have treated them as phishing scam, i have never clicked on any links and have logged in by typing www.ebay.co.uk into adress bar then login as others have said. quick check as above ring ebay support, have always found them quick and helpful and would clarify validity for you. atb 7diaw

The Mighty Prawn
As above, click on the 'ebay' senders address and it will show the actual address hiding underneath which will usually be a system generated wwwhhyoof745894(*634n@hotmail etc type email address it's a fake by the way, I had exactly the same wording sent to me
Lloyd90
The actual email address is no.reply@ebay.com is also has a green "This message is off a trusted sender" although I still didn't click anything!

leadbreakfast
If it's from eBay they don't start with dear eBay user or with your email address. It would be your eBay user name or your full name. I get emails like that and from PayPal saying they received my payment of £40 for a facebook game. Just contact eBay

BrowningB525
This may be legit. There is no link to login on the email. Try resetting your password on ebay.
Lloyd90
There were also two links on the email, which I removed along with my user name for this forum. I will contact eBay tomorrow and update. According to the email they have frozen the account and reset the password so it's on hold until tomorrow any ways.
