If I find this out I might be able to figure out what a WR300 and slosh 20 is lol

A smut is a smoothound a WR300 is a rod and a slosh 20 is a reel ,

Just had to google Trimingham as I didn't know where that was ! fishing really starts to pick up down this way now, always big female "smuts" around in end July and August, trouble is its then a fine balance between going fishing and shooting over stubble!

I think we will have a venture down that way when mine get out of school in a few weeks.

Get plenty up here at times ulrome out newton last year i had a decent day but most seemed about the 5 to 7lb area just small ones. There must be bigish ones up here but i never had one, Seems to me like the further south i go the bigger they get.

Had them typicaly 8 to 12 lb even had a 13lb on the east cost, need to take a look further down.

Glosshan surely! Had a couple of crackers last weekend

I thought it was spelled Glassan. Used to work in fishmonger about 35 years ago, down here Coley was the usual term but saithe was mentioned too. I can't remember billet though.
