panoma1
How will it float? Lol The law presently appertaining to shotguns in Scotland are, as far as I'm aware the same as in England!
sako751sg
Lovely place if you can get used to the midges. Laws pretty much the same although the use of lead differs a wee bit in that you can use it for ducks and geese unless over wetlands. Lucky Shot 1958
Yes Sako751sg it is,I was up in Inverness last week fly fishing midges had a feast on me even with repellent. The Croft is on sky so it will be s bit cool in the winter but I don't mind that......as along as I can take my guns and my boat I will be happy.... I like the sound of that, just about impossible to police I guess.

JDog
Midges and Widow Twanky leading the SNP . Can you deal with those? Good luck with your enterprise.
islandgun
we only get midges when its not windy (so thats 350 days a year midge free ) we have almost no crime, seldom lock the door (car or house) To my knowledge the only time a car was stolen on Harris was when one was borrowed by a visitor to allow them to get to the ferry before it left, but he did leave a thank you note and money to cover the cost, if you like plenty of space, and unusual weather its a great place, by the way politicians come and go thank god
greenshank1
Skye is a stunning area. Awesome mountains , wildlife and scenery. It is truly beautiful with an amazing history. If you can handle the rain and midgies it is a special place to live and work. It rains an awful lot in summer and nearly all the time in winter so you need to be ok with rain. If you can't you won't be the first to chuck it before your 3 rd winter. Muck in with the locals , help , fish and shoot , hill walk and take a dram . They are good people. Do not join every club and most important of All , DO NOT elect yourself onto every local committee and try to change the place and save the locals from themselves. They have seen it all before.
