Just finished a couple of Butt up mallard decoys

I took a couple of foam butt up feeder decoys to a local pond to see how they sat in the water, they self righted fine and i reckon i could reduce the ballast weight a bit more and they would still self right.

I made then out of insulation foam, they are quite easy to do the tools in used were, bread knife,hand saw sanding blocks and a surform and a jigsaw to cut out the base in plywood.

 

here is a you tube clip where i got the idea from i just adapted my decoys from the one the guy makes in the clip.
