masmiffy
This subject has probably been done to death on here but am in the market for a new pair of wellies. I suffer from reynauds syndrome, feet and hands, get proper cold feet in winter. Any advice or suggestions welcome. oowee
Had 3 pairs of muck boots but wearing them every day they only lasted a year for me. Now trying some cheaper versions and they seem pretty much the same for less money? Mate uses those heated socks in his.

johnnytheboy
My next pair will be Arxus, seem to be the best quality out there! If your looking for something really warm, kamik do 10mm thick neoprene ones in the style of muck boots but are far better quality and really comfortable for long distance unlike other heavily insulated boots! Have to agree. I thought my muck boots were good until I got the Aigles. Probably not quite as warm as the mucks but lighter, more comfortable, supple and have lasted much longer. Davyo
I used to love muck boots (with the old sole)but wasnt a fan of the new soles, great in mud but on a smooth wet surface they were like roller blades.Lost count of the amount of times I've did a bambi. johnnytheboy
Good thing about kamik boots are the sole, that's why I chose them over muck boots for depth of winter

Prefer rubber to leather in that case you might need 5mm neoprene lining and thermal loop socks?

welshwarrior
Neoprene chams to hot to wear for me but if you suffer with cold feet they should be ideal.
robbiep
Most farmers - who are in their boots for several hours a day - wear standard Dunlop wellies. There are lots of good wellie socks available which can make them toasty warm, especially if combined with a good pair of merino wool socks. Pluses : cheap, reliable, comfortable, warm. Cons : don't look posh. But you've got the thought of the extra cash in your pocket to keep you warm !

Cheap wellies are the main reason you see so many old farmers with bad hips/kneesDue toPoor fit and support of boots that are worn all day every day . The cash is no good in your pocket when you cannot walk properly. And just to say I where wellies a lot at work and I have Aigle parcours both the neoprene lined and a unlined pair for the summer. Bob Farmers with bad hips and knees is not down to wellies. It's down to excessive (wrong) physical exertion on the joints. Wear a pair of perfect, proper fitting boots all your life and work with sheep - you will still have **** hips and knees by the time your 70. I should know... I am 7th generation farmer and have seen it all.

Harry Callahan
So, what boots do you wear? Wellies, or boots? I live in boots as much as possible. Grafters waterproof 'tactical' type most of the year, and iv a pair of Seeland PAC boots for winter. Wellies, Dunlop Purofort. I'm a full time shepherd.
