Here my response to a complaint to the BBC -

Thank you for contacting us with your concerns regarding Chris Packhams recent message about wild grouse.

Chriss association with the BBC is primarily for the Watch series of programmes, where he helps to explain the science of nature. This is separate from his work outside of and independent to the BBC.

Chris Packham is a naturalist in his own right and is not solely employed by the BBC. We feel he is therefore entitled to express his personal views outside of his BBC employment.

We believe our audience is able to distinguish between Chriss role with the BBC and his external activities. Nevertheless we will remain vigilant to ensure that the distinctions regarding Chriss activities remain clear to our audience.

We thank you for your feedback in this instance

Done.

Bill Oddie needs a kick up the backside as well, when he's on T.V.

He deserves one on or off tv. I recall his contribution to the 'what makes us human?' article on the j vine show a couple of years ago, when he started off with a tirade against those who pursue and kill animals for sport. Nice bloke. Fortunately he is now an angry old man so doesn't get the exposure he once did.
