Vince Green
About two weeks to go before they are ready I would say. Does anyone else still take part in this traditional annual free harvest?

UKPoacher
We used to harvest them along with the apples from feral trees when we walked around Ryhill Reservoir. It was noticeable that some bushes produced sweeter fruit than others so we only picked from those bushes. Over here in France we grow our own and also get a few kilos from a friend's 'tame' blackberry bushes. No need to risk the brambles as the bushes are thornless. anser2
I can only hope they will better tan last years crop. Following the very wet summer and lack of sun they were tasteless in North Norfolk. I hope they will be better this year , but the weather has been very similar this year.

Walker570
Beat me to it on the blackberry vodka but whisky will do as well. Saw a piece by that old **** Malcolm Greenhaugh saying we shouldn't pick blackberries because we're depriving the birds and animals food. Next, it will be mushrooms because we're depriving the slugs. Utter ****. We live on this planet like al the other animals and harvesting what nature provides is there for all.
