Cranfield
An excellent result, I had access to three bean fields this year, all have been harvested and not one pigeon showed any interest, just a few rooks.
JDog
A very good day. I have yet to see a field of harvested beans in these parts.

Maybe they have learned that modern harvesting equipment leaves little waste. I must admit I haven't shot successfully on beans for a good few years.. kippylawkid
Great days shooting. Well done. Beans are always a banker crop in our parts when harvested. Still a few weeks off cutting up here.
motty
Maybe they have learned that modern harvesting equipment leaves little waste. I must admit I haven't shot successfully on beans for a good few years.. I don't think I have ever seen a harvested bean field that isn't covered in spilled beans. I have at least twenty bean fields still to be cut. Whether they will be left stubbles long enough for the pigeons to really take an interest in is another matter. Pigeons here seem more interested in cereal stubbles right now, anyway.

Last year I tried at least 6 bean fields after cutting there was a few but I couldn't honestly say they were covered in them.. Your good fortune though. Baselman
Beans were Harvested last Thursday on 5 fields very close together with a few spilled Beans on the ground but since then no pigeons at all. Keep looking but nothing around. I suppose they will flight in when I am away. My luck.
Penelope
Exactly! 4 fields of beans cut last week and the harrows straight in afterwards. dougall
got 2 fields of beans cut 2 weeks ago@ also 6 fields of oats stubble.....whilst get few on beans the birds are all over oats with small interest in the beans...surprised......if anything pigeon numbers still building on the oats stubble despite getting shot 2-3 times per week.......plenty of bean pods rotting on floor too...my son even cut a decent hide ready for the beans but numbers dont justify setting up on them.
