panoma1
I find it disturbing that the NP heirarchy has not, it seems, seen fit to acknowledge the result and make appropriate positive comment!..........but I guess the survey didn't say what they wanted it to! I further note the NP survey result does not specify "shooting"........the only result that may refer to shooting is an unspecified activity? Scully
Good news indeed considering the attempts made to marginalise via the way the survey was compiled. I recall filling in the questionnaire but had forgotten all about it.

I believe I'm right is saying that the survey was conducted by the Campaign for National Parks Ltd, a registered charity which promotes National Parks. It marked it's 80th anniversary by commissioning a survey to find out what the general public felt about National Parks and amongst other questions asked what activities people might enjoy in them. It's worth noting that shooting was not amongst the activities listed. Those, like myself, who took part in the survey put down shooting under "other" The survey even had the audacity to ask if shooting should be banned in National Parks. Yet NP's economy benefits to the tune of £18M. It is heartwarming that so many who live and visit National Parks put down shooting as an activity, despite the CNP's ignorance of the important roll shootin plays in the economy of Exmoor and other National Parks. Yes I too voted for shooting under "other" as it was not specifically listed in the survey.
Penelope
Indeed, slight of hand has failed. But it was to ban. Yes I too voted for shooting under "other" as it was not specifically listed in the survey.
matone
All of these underhanded attacks on shooting in polls seem to fail but the perpertrators don`t seem to accept their misguided view of the countryside is at fault.
