Ttfjlc
Evening all, I've just been browsing Eley's website where I noticed the 36g 1s are no longer listed, I'm just curious as to how long they've stopped making them? Cheers
Rimfireboy
Looks like they're now called vip lightening, don't know what shot size though. I called in forest lodge guns last week and Colin said someone had bought all their #1 lightening steel the day before.

The biggest loads are still 36g but in 3 or 5, shame as I liked the 1s for coastal goosing.
grahamch
Eley seem to have lost the plot, they have a good product that folk want to buy and then drop it in goose shot sizes? Makes no sense to me, The biggest loads are still 36g but in 3 or 5, shame as I liked the 1s for coastal goosing.
Ttfjlc
Eley seem to have lost the plot, they have a good product that folk want to buy and then drop it in goose shot sizes? Makes no sense to me, Best of all they include a quote from somebody claiming the 36g 3 is a decent goose load?! I can only presume he meant inland, like you say it doesn't make much sense, gamebore or homeloads from now on! -ben-
I've had plenty of geese with the 36g 3s if your pushing the range to far for them I think a heaver cartridge is needed as the pattern will be a bit patchy I imagine. Are you talking about on the coast? Besides I reckon striking energy would be of more concern than pattern.
