Floaters

Last week I was putting together a single folding seat hide designed so I could set up and shoot maggies anywhere in the farm yard. Like one of these pop up jobs, but not as expensive and with a solid rest for the air rifle. Because I wanted the roof to be waterproof I was looking for some lightweight material in green and on a visit to Aldi looking for trail cams saw a fishing tent for carp fishing I suppose. The roof was made of material I was looking for and it had collapsible flexible frame. In short the material worked great and then when I looked at the frame sections they cried out FLOATERS.

Now normally even in my Landie fitting in 6ft floaters is a problem, but these breakdown, connected by flexible rope, into sections about 15 inches long. I hung a full bodied plastic decoy on the end of four sections and it supported that no problem. All I need to do is make an attachment for the floater body/wings and also a double leg attachment to stick in the ground to stop it twisting and a spray with some matt paint. There are enough sections to make five maybe six floaters and the material has made a complete fitted waterproof roof for my hide, so for £19 it was a steal.

All I need now are the pigeons :unhappy:
