The little rods screw into the end of the v-section to spike the bird on, to be honest i don't use them myself, just fix the wing spreader about 6" down from the tip of the bouncer and mount the bird on that bit of bouncer instead, I personally think it holds the bird better and is less of a faff! The next batch wont be having that little rod and screw hole in, not a stupid question at all as everyone asks it, your certainly not alone!
