A1Decoy Posted September 22, 2016 Report Share Posted September 22, 2016 If you want to save yourself the hassle, we do Crow Socks (like the pigeon photo socks but just plain black) now that slip over pigeon decoys to make them look like crows, you can then revert them to pigeons if you ever need to! HIDENSEEK Posted September 23, 2016 Report Share Posted September 23, 2016 I've done a temporary job when pushed for time (usual!) by covering the pigeon decoys in a cut up pair of black tights (get permission first,don't get caught sneaking into the shed with them!)....They worked. Walker570 Posted September 27, 2016 Report Share Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) The socks would seem to be the best idea because all paint goes grey eventually, even the purchased crow decoys. I have a few flock ones I did myself and they have lasted well but I think jet black material is going to last a lot longer. Half a dozen real birds out of the freezer helps as well. Crows in a field are absolutely jet black. Early summer on laid corn with young birds not such a problem, but later on the old ones get pretty smart if things are not spot on.
