Spraying pigeon decoys advice?

The socks would seem to be the best idea because all paint goes grey eventually, even the purchased crow decoys. I have a few flock ones I did myself and they have lasted well but I think jet black material is going to last a lot longer. Half a dozen real birds out of the freezer helps as well.

Crows in a field are absolutely jet black. Early summer on laid corn with young birds not such a problem, but later on the old ones get pretty smart if things are not spot on.
