Gin steady shooter Posted September 29, 2016 Report Share Posted September 29, 2016 I have a a300 extrema, which as figgy say is now badged as the 350. My gun has been faultless on heavy 3" goose loads cart, all game carts of various lengths weights and 28g clay carts. It even cycles 67mm length carts as long as they are 28grms minimum. I had some problems with lighter clay loads of 21g it doesn't seem to like these- but this may be more down to speed of the carts or the rails if they are not clean / oiled. As it a gas systems it does get dirty, but u can clean it pretty well withou fully stripping it- in fa t I have mine for 2 year with close to 1000 carts through it who thou a full strip down clean needed. It's not a light gun but then if ur firing heavy loads thIs is a good thing- remembering it's built for 3.5 carts. Gin steady shooter Posted September 29, 2016 Report Share Posted September 29, 2016 Tbo- it was a toss up over the super Vinci and the a300 for me- the Vinci being an ineria gun: I had read some reports of the super Vinci (3.5" chamber) being limited to 2&3/4" 28g loads- which I thought mite limit its clay abilities but I since know u can get cheap 28g fast carts for clays. Also given my a300 doesn't reliable cycle less that 28g- I now think I should have got the super Vinci instead (less cleaning needed!) If u don't need the 3.5" chamber the 3" Vinci would b my first choice. I know a lot of negative review in the states about them- but a lot of good reviews too! Is it because a lot of their components are made in Turkey and assembled in Italy to keep within the " made in Italy " regs. ?? I will stick with my Remingtons , and have been waiting for the new Rem V3 to arrive in the UK If it lives up to test reports , it will be the last gun i will buy. Mark 2s with that comfortech idea on them could be a better option for those people who are felt recoil shy. I like Benellis esspecialy the vinchis. There is no arguing with this Remingtons are fantastic, I am remingtonless at the moment but looking to get another pretty soon. Did you have the sportsman or proper versamax? I thought the posher versamax had adjustment. Sportsman is suposed to be 1100..1187 dimensions tend to fit most people ok. I have a 20 bore Hatsan done 20k in about 8 years never missed a beat even the once. And sticking with the hatsans i got the oldest and middle sons new hatsan extreme 3 inch synthetics 295 each brand new now the internal component finnish and attention to detail is way above the mk2 escort 20 bore i mentioned above so hatsan are uping their game while berettas are lowering theirs. If your charging money like Beretta for stuff mearly having it work is just not enough, the escorts do thois at a 6th the vmoney of top end Berettas. Benelli have kept their build quality why not beretta. The bolt carriage snapped on the Hatsan. For me the Hatsan broke and the Beretta has not so, far also if I am super critical I would say the Beretta is more lithe and balanced with very low recoil. The Hatsan is a world easier to clean and as you say a fraction of the price. On quality I have not seen enough of either to know what is improving and what is not. Bar the wooden stock of the beretta they both look incredibly similar. the bolt assembly is not very much different and both are bang on the money when shouldered. Neither take very long to strip and clean the hatsan is stamped steel proof and we all know the yanks fire tons of steel through their 390's with no issues so not much different there either. Neither has jammed despite many many shells being fired. One cost my mate 100 quid the other cost me 400 quid. A good place to see where Beretta quality as fallen is look at wood stocks on any of their guns the wood is not the same quality, the wood to metal fit is less neat, edges of actions barrel lumps forend irons and semi auto recie vers and bolts etc is less radiused and well finnished, now they tend to be sharp rough uneven , Barrel lump jeweling is hap hazard less even and well defined everything is made and assembled its like little care finnishing took place at all, this was simply not the case in the old Berettas, Staying with the semi autos, find a 20 25 year old 303 in tidy condittopn. Then get a new beretta like say a teckneys in timber stone coat. Ok fancy stone coat finnish to action but wood to metal fit is average on the newer gun run your hand off the reciever to the stock you will feel the step its pronounced, and the edge of the stock is squared off sharp, now look at the 303 again run your hand back off the reciever the stock is level barely a step and any edge to the stock there might be proud will be smooth slightly radiused edge and nice hard laquer finnish durable and well presented for a workhorse of a semi. Run your fingers round the action frame the loading port, the edge on the 303 is again radiused quite pronounced in fact, not so the teckneys its square and sharp, uncomfortable to use in fact on occassion, bolt lug on 303 super smooth polished not a visible milling mark to be seen, new Berettas crude sharp edges and often very visible milling marks polished on the lock up area but the bare minimum of assembly finnish on these guns now, you expect this from a cheap turkish budget beater but not at this money from Beretta. Even rear edge of trigger on 303 finnished nicely shaped on the back edge, on the new Berettas squared off and rough edged. I think its how the industry is going these days but when you look at the hatsan extreme and how they are turned out these days compared to even the mk 2 escorts, thdey are getting there, Beretta need to either get back to the old 303 days for build wquality, or drop their prices living on what they used to do and charging todays customers for yesterdays privalidges is not a long term survival plan in my opinion, eventualy customers will wake up to Beretta.
