I have a field of freshly drilled wheat about 2 mins from my house, the field is surrounded by woods, I had some good bags off this field in the winter of the rape, stubble in the summer. it was loaded with pigeons this morning when I drove past. my question:- how long will hold their attention as I cant shoot until Sunday?

As JDOG.. depends on the flock size and the acreage of the field and what else is available locally.

I've seen pigeons on a 20 acre seedbed for 3 or 4 days and the same volume of birds on the same field for 2 or 3 weeks.

Unlike crows and rooks pigeons will only pick out the exposed seed so wont hang around once its started to sprout.

I should think it would be worth a pop Sunday though because they don't normally all just up sticks and leave en bloc.. there will be quite a few stragglers I expect.
