Rossco89
I'm wanting to apply for a shotgun, planning to use for pigeons, corvids and the odd day rough shooting. I'm struggling to get land permission at the moment, as are the few shooters I know when looking for extra permissions. A few farmers have been open to giving me permission for pest control but once I have the gun and can help them out when they need. I have been advised to join the Ulster Clay Pigeon Shooting Association, as a member I could then apply for the gun? Is that correct or would I need to be a member of specific clay pigeon club? Thanks for any help/advice
tweedledee
think you still need land before you apply

ordnance
I doint think you need to join a club, just apply for shooting clays. The only problem is if you do that it could be granted for clays only, ring your local FEO and ask.
Big Al
It is my understanding that you would have to join a specific club, thereby proving you have somewhere to shoot and just reason to hold an FAC. However some clubs first rule is that members must hold an FAC before joining. If you don't know any farmers willing to sign the form (only 1 required for a shotgun) then I would ask BASC or your RFD. Joining UCPSA proves nothing (in my view.) Wb123
Ring your feo. I have been very impressed with the ones i have dealt with here. Failing that any clay ground should fill out the permission form for clays only, that should get the ticket, then you ask your farmer to provide one for vetmin and send it in. You can shoot at hollow farm etc no need to be in a club.
