bazzashadow
depends how it is connected. I have extended several things and some just bolt on like a fridge or cooker. but I also have a soldering iron so i would solder new cable on
stewartward
Shouldn't be a problem. Iv'e done it many times, may need a crimping tool but I expect it will have a choc a block in the microwave Edited November 16, 2016 by stewartward
sooty 54
I would not recommend going into a microwave oven if you don't know what you are doing . There are capacitors in there ,that will give you a nasty shock . You can get special connectors for jointing flex ,some are even waterproof. Hope this helps . Agree with you, connector sounds more sensible and safer for me.
iano
I want to extend the cable on my microwave, if I cut cable what do I use to rejoin it, i.e. is there some box or something? Single gang extension cable?
HDAV
I like using IEC connectors for this, they are an approved 10A connector but I wouldn't open a microwave ...... I used to have a 4 gang behind the microwave handy for the extra sockets https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281105362155 Edited November 17, 2016 by HDAV
