rovercoupe
For hd you need a hdmi to dvi cable, super cheep of the evil bay! If its hard to get to then dvi is better as it has screw terminals like pc monitors and wont come loose.
Bry-M
just remember dvi does not do sound, only video.
HDAV
HDMI to scart needs electronics as HDMI is digital! Scart is analogue ! Also HDMI is HDCP compliant scart is not (copy protection ) scart cannot accept HD resolutions so needs a scaler too! If you can buy a new tv! HDAV
While you can buy boxes that do the conversion it's not ideal and if you canupdate the tv all the better.

Kalahari
Look in your local auctions. Lots of cheap flatscreens there. Need to look round the back for the right sockets. David.
HDAV
Thanks for the info...would a dvi to HDMI work Or as you say buy a new tv HDMI to DVI is easier as hdmi 1.0-1.4 is based on dvi 1.0 plus extras, your dvi port will need to support hdcp and older ones on none hdmi tv's may not tv must be near on 10 years old to not have hdmi............ As already stated dvi doesn't ordinarily support audio and hdmi does so you would still need a converter assuming you wanted sound. What model is the tv? HDAV
Simple answer no, go buy a 24" with Amazon built in..... Long answer is yes but another £20-80 box required and PSU etc..... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01EH5MS9Y/ref=pd_aw_sim_sbs_23_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=76RZJKMGQHMKKMBQ5QB9 As long as there is an audio input to match the dvi (normally a 3.5mm jack socket) Edited December 7, 2016 by HDAV
