Silicone gun socks.

i have very dry cabinets too, still had odd rust spots as winter approaches and the cold sets into the house, leave your guns out of cabinet for a couple hours to equalize to room temp before cleaning, a cold gun in a warm room, then a sock placed over it (silicone treated or not) soon attracts moisture hence rust may set in,.try turning your sock inside out, spray it lightly all over with a good silicone spray then return right side in.

hope this makes sense,

Only VP90 or Copper thread gunsocks will stop rust forming in the cabinet. I never use a gun sock but spray a little gun oil with VP90 in it on the carpet I placed in the bottom of the cabinet, never had a problem with rust.

I've not noticed any rust on my gun but its out twice a week and rubbed over with a slight oiled rag every time i put it away.

I use a silicone sock over it but i will keep a sharper eye on it from now on.

I mainly use a sock to stop putting dinks in the woodwork when i put the gun in the cabinet.
