I've settled on a pair of saloman quest gtx boots.got them from go outdoors who matched the price plus another 10% off and threw in a bottle of waterproof spray . They do 5 different width fittings, are up there with the very best (use the best Italian boot leather for a start) are waterproof, comfy as slippers from new, grippy and should last years.
