There was a time when the programme was full of a variety of class acts - some famous - some not so famous - when even Jools Holland couldn't spoil it. It has been going downhill for a long time. Lucky you watched it (8 days ago) or this post wouldn't even exist 😂 FYI- there are other channels- my dad likes watching stuff he dislike too, just so he can moan about it lol does my mums swede in. Watch the highlights now and you would say it was brilliant but you don't see all the dross they edited out. At least today you can record it and FF through the rubbish. I agree entirely, I went to an IM gig recently and the difference with no Darrel in the band is significant. They were still a very good band just not as tight and there was definitely something missing. On top of that rockabilly riffs should not be played on a strat' they need a big body twangy Gretsch. If someone had not seen the band with Darrel in it they would not appreciate the difference. Her performance on the Hootenanny was absolutely superb.
