Hello mate

Yes of course it is. As long as you have permission. Stay with the boundaries of your permission.

Be mindful of the public and any access they have to your permission. Footpaths ect.

Also any livestock

Also try to be considerate of people living in or around your permission. Yes as pest controllers we have a job to do and a landowner to keep happy. Try to find a happy medium.

It's very easy to fall out of favour buy the locals complaining.

For me personally I would spend a little of time just having a good nose about and getting to know the lay of the land.

At the end of the day as long as you have permission to be there your SAFE and your not being an idiot or a pain in the backside your NOT doing anything wrong.

So go enjoy yourself

The rest of it is just common sense 👍

Hi everyone,

Pretty new to pigeon shooting and have recent been granted permission over 30 fields and hundreds of acres of land.

My question is, is it ok to park up and take a leisurely walk around the hedgerow?

Thanks

James

What would you be planning on shooting whilst you were wandering the hedgerows?

Pheasants and partridges are about to go out of season.

You may learn more about pigeon behaviour by sitting and watching from your car.

That sums it up, especially the "common sense" bit.

"Time spent in reconnaissance is seldom wasted" , a quote from Field Marshall Rommel . :)

It's called reconnaissance and is never time wasted but you don't always need to take the gun. Not talking of a broken gate - unless it's newly done and vandalised - as he'll know about it, but if you spot anything out of the ordinary, tell the farmer. In 30 years on the same land, only once have I told the farmer something he didn't already know, but I keep doing it. One way of letting him know that you're out and about.
