Roost shooting

Where I go, there is a field of kale right next to where the ride is where I intend to stand. From past experience, there is a flight line across it that sometimes the bird is just too far to reach. I was going to put a flapper just in the field facing towards me to try pull them a little closer.

One wood I shot was mainly small 20 ft trees , lots of ivy and a few conifers, but in the middle of the wood were two very tall poplars, I just sat well camo'd under these trees and they came straight in , perfect ,

Last year we did a charity roost shoot for the local game keeper, I drew a large wood on the edge of some old stubble, the birds were going in and out across the stubble but not stopping, so 6 decoys and my magnets about 30 yards out from the tree line and in they came , had a busy afternoon then moved back into the wood as the light went for a couple more over the tree tops,

I didnt think about putting some lofters up, :good::good: but thats a good idea, something I will try this year.:yes:
