To fill or not to fill... that is the question

Hi all,

I was wondering what the best course of action would be regarding filling in drill holes.

I recently acquired a Baikal 12g with a number of hairline cracks in the stock. I found the start/finish of each crack and drilled a 1.5mm hole and the end of each to try and stop the cracks from creeping and then filled those holes with epoxy.

All seems to be well however I was wondering what the best course of action would, these are my options:

1 - Leave the stock as is, the tiny holes are not that much of a problem to me, its a Baikal so isn't worth much anyway

2 - Sand, fill the holes with wood filler, sand and then Lacquer (thought this would hold the filler better) or wax

3 - Use a mixture of wood glue and saw dust to fill the holes and then wax the stock however I am worries whether the wood glue would actually wax properly

4 - An alternative option suggested by a PW member

Thanks for everyone time and help in advance.

Cheers,
Warren
