Konnie Posted February 24, 2017 Report Share Posted February 24, 2017 I have some of this only in it's first year though, starting point may be to contact a seed supplier of it, as I have noticed things like my chicory have started to SLOWLY start to grow. so if it needs doing it won't be long. JDog Posted February 24, 2017 Report Share Posted February 24, 2017 True Canary grass, Phalaris canariensis, is an herbaceous perennial like other grasses and it should respond well to being cut at about 300mm. However on it's own it is not really strong enough to be a stand alone cover crop. You may find that you have a variation on the species plant.
