It seems to get harder and harder for us shooters to be seen in anything but a dim flickering light these days. How can we be taken seriously when we have rubbish like this at the top.

Shame on you.

If he has been found guilty why has he not been made to pay OUR money back from the past year ?

Autocratic management style, I ask myself how did this individual get into the post in the first place, who done his employment references and would have thought would have required a personal reference also as is a .org ? I worked in an a large organisation which unfortunately supported this type of management and person.

Individuals like this are hugely toxic in the workplace enviroment and undermine trust for their employees and members. At least it is now out in the open, the organisation will now have to work hard keep it's member numbers.

Thank you David for the update.

The old adage here, if poor style and practice are left unchallenged: THE FISH ROT'S FROM THE HEAD DOWN!

The alternative management style is 'consultative' and is best suited to any organisation which produces something undefined and whose workforce expertise and knowledge are considered a valuable asset and whose opinions are both sought and welcomed. One can only assume that whoever did his interviews wasn't quite sure which type of organisation they belonged to.

I wonder whether shifty swifty endorsed the appointment of Ali?

You may very well have a point there, in the late seventies I was hired to look into a company in Leicester that had some serious mismanagement problems, what started out as looking at one or two people turned out to be a systematic problem, you see if you turn a blind eye to a wrong doing it makes you no better than the culprit.

Good to here that is cleared up, fact is better than rumour. A remaining mystery is why has our Northern Office at Hexham up and left. Also having met some of the staff there where have they gone?

Blackpowder

Agreed,we never really got an explanation of the Corbridge offices demise..........

I still think BASC are our best Org to protect shooting but there have obviously been many muddy undercurrents flowing !

Strikes me that all these organisations like charities main concerns are the well paid jobs of those at the top . Nice hotels and fine dining at shows and events and having meetings with nothing achieved ,no doubt with nice hotels and lunches .

Yes there are some very worthy people who work very hard but let down by over promoted under qualified bosses .[ Even if they did go to the right school and have family connections with the landed gentry .]

Wondered why there was someone different doing the foreward in the mag that landed on my doormat today!

Also good to see that Hampshire are very nearly bottom of the renewal/grant table for FAC and SGC.....as if we didnt know that already :unhappy:

Even variations are taking on average 3 months, thats longer than renewals :hmm:IIRC?

When you get these connected appointments and from ex-senior old bill, I always wonder what mates club is running the coup.

Then when one of the cohorts needs the sack (and he's not dealt with) I wonder if there's a funny handshake in the mix.

From reading the report, if you were a mate of Mr Ali, you were bullet proof.

If you're not getting properly disciplined let alone the boot after repeated and earnest threats to kill, then just what do you have to do get the boot?

In a word 'blimey'.

Well BASC let themselves down there, they failed to act appropriately and would happily have brushed it under the carpet, they had no choice because there hand was forced and had to take some action, shame on them.
