Tomo-1
Hi all, Can anyone please recommend somewhere I can get some poles for drey poking that wont break the bank? (No, I'm not interested in drain poles!) Looking for about 40ft or whatever you think. I used a set with the forestry commission years ago and they must have been at least 45ft and lockable with a T bar on the end. Thanks. We used to do the same with the rooks nests, blow them out of the trees when they started to build. They moved on and never came back. CharlieT
I see some are advertised at £200. However, I found these at a more realistic £55 http://www.huntingsolutions.co.uk/lofting-poles-drey-poking-5203
Tomo-1
Thanks for the suggestion Charlie T. In answer to everyone else, I shoot out the higher dreys, but have found that it is more effective to totally destroy them with poles. Hard work, but with a team of say three more beneficial in the long term. As squirrels will chop and change where they sleep and use up to three or four dreys depending on food source it makes keeping track and control much more efficient. Thanks for your replies. Walker570
I have a set of lofting poles which I have used when we needed a bit of sport. BUT, I'm with the previous comments. Amazing what a 3 inch Magnum out of a full choke 410 barrel will do to a drey.
