I tried a couple of dealers, one said definitely no new customers this season, one could get me poults, but not the strain I wanted and another said he couldn't promise anything. shoot and be safe Posted March 8, 2017 Report Share Posted March 8, 2017 The shoot I'm on has indicated that they may not be able to buy in ducks for the coming season after their supplier was hit by the outbreak. The keeper wasn't to worried about the pheasants as he has a number of possible suppliers for them. I believe that the restrictions have been relaxed now regarding keeping your birds indoors, so in effect there shouldn't be a problem come poult release time. markm Posted March 9, 2017 Report Share Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) It's not the restrictions that's the worry, after all it's in the summer. It's down to the fact that one of the biggest U.K. suppliers of game birds, have lost their entire stock. My increase was due to the strain I want, this coming year eggs are being brought in from Europe (transport) and the poor value of the pound.
