A-Tec sound mod

You sometimes think its not doing a good job, try taking it off ,and see the difference.

I have an Atec on my .22lr semi auto, with CCI standards or subs, all you can hear is the bolt moving.

Ive fired my 17 mod free a few times and the atec really doesnt do alot. My SAK on my 22 is brilliant, its just the bolt click.

I know that the 17 is a loud round but when i put the SAK on it a while back for an idea on sound it was better. Listened to the chap in shop who said atec was way to go, when maybe it wasnt.

Is it a 'thin' mod ?

I had a parker hale on my hmr that was pretty thin, and rubbish!

Its got a great big can on it now, and is unbelievably quieter.

Think thats the issue, the outer is very thin. Can feel a variation coming...

My 243 has an A-tec but yet to use it with it on. Will be interesting to see how it performs...

I have Atec and DPT mods for centre fire and have tried them on my 17 but not really impressed. They both work well on my centrefire rifles.

When I bought the 17 I was advised to by a SAK mod for it which I did again not really impressed.

Got a Hogan air rifle mod and it is a lot better, the mod says it is rated for both .22 and 17 .

The answer might be a 17 calibre specific moderator
