Dougy
Has anybody tried them ? I've got a load to do and just wondering if anyone's tried it. And yes I will take all comments regarding nuts and stuff on the chin lol
figgy
No is the honest answer so let us know how you like them. As its much like rabbit and no fat you will have to add some like lard, there are some great sausage recipes around.
E.w.
I have a farmer friend who traps/shoots them and loves to roast them, never eaten any but wouldn't mind trying them.
Dougy
I no that I will need some belly pork, I'm into my sausage making. I just wondered what kind of flavours will go, you have the usual garlic (folks put that in everything) I'll keep searching.

pigeon controller
One of my previous game dealers asked me to provide a dozen squirrels these were for the American Airbase down the road. The only request was that I skin them prior to freezing as it's difficult to do so later. The muscle definition is very human like with a tail. I spooked my son and some school friends that I'd shot an alien? Edited March 25, 2017 by pigeon controller

Most of them have been from drey poking and a follow up shot with a 30.06, it seems to buck the twigs better.

figgy
Treat the meat same as Rabbit so any rabbit sausage recipes will serve well.
kyska
I like squirrel as a meat, I can only imagine the amount of extras will lose the flavour like rabbit. Worth a go though!
Dougy
I've decided not to bother, too time consuming and little interest. The time and cost was just not worth it.
