I have recently bought my 243 and have been itching to get out with it, ive been going out with a friend spotting whilst we stalk, so picking up hints and tips from him. This week we saw a nit so great buck following two does and a 6 point beast.. Friday evening i put myself in a high seat where we had seen them. Two hours later two does appeared, but no bucks. So after an hour of watching them, I decamped and started walking back to the truck. Rounded the corner of one field only to see the four id been waiting for in the next field.. I tucked in but they winded me and bolted. Left it yesterday mainly as od been out in the sun all day and was glowing a strange red/pink colour... Got motivated this evening and went to a different high seat thinking i would see them passing. Got to 19:30 and nothing so thought id talk a careful walk towards the other seat. Got to the gateway of the field, and saw the buck in question. Wind was in my favour, and they didnt see me. So I dropped to the floor and slowly crawled to get closer. Got to 70yrds and took aim.
