WinchesterDave
Watching some of the F4 over the weekend with my dad when Billy Monger, 17, crashed in to a car that had stopped in front of him. Just read online that the poor lad has had both his legs amputated as a result. Attached is the news report and the video of the crash if you want to watch it. It made both my dad and I shout when it happened. Thoughts go out to him and his family. AlistairB
It was a horrible crash. There is a justgiving page set up to help him through his recovery and ongoing treatment etc. Jenson Button has just donated £15,000. discobob
My 13 year old lad who is a big motorsport fan (and use to do MSA Cadet racing) has donated £20 of his own money to the lad on Wednesday - very proud of him - and we hope the lad makes a successful recovery and rehabilitation and returns to racing - from what I have heard he is a very positive young man and will be an excellent role model for others
four-wheel-drive
If he was racing for a team would they not have had to have him insured against something like this just a thought I no nothing about car racing teams.
Mungler
If he was racing for a team would they not have had to have him insured against something like this just a thought I no nothing about car racing teams. But that would be for their benefit, not the driver.
four-wheel-drive
But that would be for their benefit, not the driver. That is not the type of insurance I was talking about if you play football or come to that any sport for a living do you not have insurance so that if you are injured and can no longer play you get a payout. if the answer is no then I think that they should have it if I was to take a job in a factory or any job come to that if I was injured while I was doing that job I would be entitled to some sort of compensation.
