Hi guys; looking for any advice/history/links etc to find some information on my english made bozard. It is stamped with no1, would this indicate it was a pair? Also it has been resleeved, very well, does this affect its desirability?

hello, worth checking with bozzards gun shop nr hungerford

There are no Bozard records as such but Phil Turner who operates the name is trying to reconstruct a history and is compiling as much data as he can . I think if you contact him he will tell you what is known and would like as much detail of your gun as possible in his quest .

In Nigel Brown`s London Gunmakers book, it list Bozard as follows -:

Bozard & Co.

33 New Bond St. 1888-95

8 Bennett St.SW 1896-67 (think that`s a typo should be -97)

Bozard, Bedingfield, Philip & Co. 4 Panton St. 1898

Bozard & Co.s.a.1899-1901

So it seems to date your gun somewhere between 1888 & 1901.

Hope that this helps.
