As above .

The barracuda hunter extreem changes that .

I use them in one of my ultras in .177

And they are amazing for putting rabbits down hard .

Useless for body shots on birds tho as there just isnt the penetration .

Yes they group well out to 50 yds in my ultra

A rh is a better allround pellet for different quarry .

But if your after rats and rabbits then the extreem are great

The thing i like about extreems .is they shoot the exact same zero and trajectory as bisleymagnums out of my ultra .so i often carry both pellets with me when hunting .

And i can load which ever i thing gives the best terminal effect on quarry as it presents .

So rats and rabbits = extreems

Pigeon, crows and squirrels = bismags

Funny how rifles seem to be picky about pellets innit 😞

I will have another go with the jsb later if it stops raining and wind dies down as I Sa last night they grouped ok but had the odd flyer and pretty sure it wasn't me. Definitely fancy tryng these extreme jobs they certainly look business like 👍

Some times people on eBay do them in bags of 50 for that reason. Also, +1 for the hunter extremes

Paste that in to eBay and bobs your uncle

Cheers mate 👍

Very nice of you Bruno,

I always liked using bisley superfield, there not a long range pellet that's for sure but I always valued being able to get close more than a long range shot, but they wouldn't load right in the rapid 7 mag.

I did once buy a load of pellets possibly 50s ten maybe fifteen different types so you can see how they shoot and how they load in the mag.

I would think Macs might open up a few tins for you you to try them for size, rws superdome were longer so might suit your mag better

Happy to post you 50 Extremes if it helps - just pm me your address, I use them (.177) on Squirrels.

How very kind of you that would be brilliant. I can pop a few quid in a charity box of your Choice if that is agreeable 👍

Use the pellet that's most accurate for the gun - that's all I can say! If it's a classic round head then stick with that, it will get the job done. If you're on the airgunforum, there's a chap on there who makes up pellet packs and sells them. He's got a huge array of them and you can pick and choose what ones you order. Sign up there and as him to see what he can do for you. I've used him a couple of times and he's better than anyone i've found on ebay

I was sold a box of Exact Diablo 8.44gr when I purchased my TX200 HV in 177, 12 months ago and after 71 magpies, numerous crows and jackdaws and pigeons, two rabbits and a 15yrd head shot on a hare. I will be purchasing a new box this week. Super accurate out of the TX200. Cannot fault them.

This is how i see different .177 pellets for hunting.

Flat heads around 7 grns .perfect for rats and rabbits up to 25 yds.

Hollow points (extreems ) rats and rabbits out to 45 yds

Round heads 7.3 grn -9 grn great all rounder pellet .rats (not too close ) rabbits all ranges .pigeon head and body .

Heavy round head .long range rabbits and pigeon body and head shots .

It's always going to be a bit of a trade off, a lighter, thus higher speed pellet is going to give you better accuracy in principle due to the flatter trajectory at Airgun ranges but then the lack of weight and thus energy carrying ability at longer ranges becomes a disadvantage if you are trying to spoil a Squirrels day. Heavyweight pellets obviously carry/retain more energy over range but the loopy trajectory means that accurate range finding becomes a real necessity. At the risk of repeating myself I have shot several Squirrels clean thru the head with a variety of .177 pellets and found the poor creatures very much conscious and reactive on approach, the Extreme Hunter pellets that I now exclusively use on these pests seem to have made a considerable difference but it's still early days and I believe that this type of pellet, at normal UK power levels, restrict your shooting to Head shots only. Ultimately you need to consider the fact that a Nuclear reactive, Rocket powered pellet is about as much use as a Chocolate Teapot if it cannot hit the target so you may have to compromise your choice of pellet and simply go with whatever your barrel takes a liking to, regardless of the weight/design.
