Young Magpies

So I was out taking my Labrador for a walk when he started showing a lot of interest in a hedge, seconds later I heard a familiar cackle but noticed they were just flapping from hedge to hedge. I took the dog home and came out a little later with the shotgun, I managed to find them again and dispatched them with a couple of clay shells. Now I've shot my fair share of Magpies over the years but this is the first time at the grand old age of 34 () that I've come across magpie 'branchers', might not mean a lot to some but I couldn't believe my luck, god bless my dog.

Thanks all for the kind replies, Rimfireboy, I must admit it took a bit of effort as it was rather hot when out with the dog and the thought of going out straight away didn't appeal. Waited around an hour before heading back out with the weather being a little cooler but not by much. The biggest effort/challenge was retrieving the birds from a dried out ditch teeming with nettles and bugs that took a liking to my blood so that I could get a photo for the PW crew....
