Whatever An item is, it is only worth what someone is prepared or able to pay for it. They have rocketed in the new price, but they are out of fashion at the moment and I know of someone who bought one from a dealer in almost like new condition for £120. The dealer had taken it in and was just chopping it out at silly money so that it wasn't taking up rack space and made Someone happy. The gun is a gem And the new owner loves it, uses it and shoots well with it. people look on guns nowadays as a sort of image item rather than a tool. Frightened of getting a scratch on the woodwork so they feel like they have to go and buy a rough cheap gun to go shooting with. it's a wonder that the major manufacturers haven't got like year stamp/model Like cars, so that people feel like they have to go out every August and buy the latest model. Sort of the whiter than white soap powder. There's just one minor problem with this though. A new car doesn't make a **** dangerous driver a good safe one and a new gun doesn't make a careless poor shot into a safe good one.

Last no.4 I sold was very smart indeed. Retained all it's case colour hardening, woodwork was all but mint and apart from one small mark to the barrels it looked almost like a new gun.

OK it was over a year ago and things may have changed but it was £300.

Have prices gone up that much?

Prices aint gone up-i bin after an aya 3" for a few months now and i believe that £300 for this gun is about right perhaps even too optimistic. To advertise a gun then come up with this " i might not sell " guff i find annoying.Either drop one or get of the pan

is this model meant to have case colour hardening??

Yes it should looks like it's been polished off probably because it was getting worn as it's been reblued and re chequered so has seen some action

Seen some asking into thousands for these and do'nt know where they pluck these figures from. Far better buy a good sidelock

Have to agree in part

No doubt the work done on it will have cost a few quid but a bit of research on pricing the gun before listing it may have been of benefit But listing with a price then trying to jack it up is'nt cricket

I thought the powers to be would be onto this by now

Should put it into an aution site with a reserve and see where it levels out?

It doesn't matter how much money you spend "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear"

Just a bit confusing.

Blueing looks new, action looks well worn.

A mate sold one of these recently. Retail prices ranged from £200 - £1000. Two dealers wouldn't touch it.

Yep dealers just do not want lower end sxs as they can'nt get shot of them

Good sidelocks are still selling in small numbers but alas the market is limited to a small minority
