Well done mate 👌

Thanks mate :good:

Well done Dave, no easy feat. Diligence and effort always come to mind. You have got it for life now and in that field i am sure it will take you far in your career. By the way its a great University JMU I mentor loads of students from there, they set the bar high so give yourself a proper pat on the back!

So, after three long years I found out this morning I will be graduating from Liverpool John Moores University with a 2nd class BA Honours degree in Policing Studies. :D

I was 2% of a 2:1 but I am made up! I found it difficult, and this last year has been stressful with a lot of work!

Bring on graduation on 13th July so I can wear my silly hat ;)

Dave :good:

Yes Liverpool is a great city for night studies  Hmm.

So will i be calling you Sir in a few years when Andy Cooke goes. :good:

Haha maybe one day, but not anytime soon :good:

Well done Dave. :good:

You thinking of jumping in as a detective? I understand that's possible these days and with your degree I would think you'd be a good candidate.

Thank you DM :good:

No, I don't think I'll go down that path. I'd like to get more experience on the streets before thinking about doing that.

Thanks,

Dave

Congratulations! Out of curiosity, did any part of the course touch under either firearms legislation or licensing?

Thank you!

Yes, firearms legislation was touched upon in the criminal law module in either first or second year. Which was headed by an ex firearms inspector - sound bloke who used to shoot pistol in competition so he knew what he was talking about. He even did slides on firearm operation; self loading pistols etc.

One of the lectures was lead by an ex Bobby wanting to get into lecturing... I could instantly tell he was anti private ownership of firearms. I did make him aware I hold a SGC, he seemed a bit clueless I thought. Anyway that's another story.

  • 2 weeks later...

Congratulations. Do you aspire to specialise in any particular department?

Thank you mate. As of yet I'm uncertain - Traffic or Armed Response, potentially. Not sure if I'd enjoy the responsibility of being an AFO though on a day to day basis.

Long, long way off however, need to get in first!

Cheers,

Dave
