I'm not suprised either, they will be some very big bags killed over laid cereals at the minute. We don't hear the half of it on here.

There is a very good bag to be made here JDog if/when you stop galavanting and get your backside home. The field is waiting!

My closest perm has two patches of laid barley but can't be shot as right next to road. Flightline shooting for two hours 'this evening on birds go to and from on one line and I shot 41 for 73 cartridges, I have never seen birds pouring in like that and if I could have set up near the wheat I can imagine 250 by myself would have been very possible

Mate and i grabbed a couple of hours this eve .and sat on the edge of a barley field ive been watching for a couple of weeks .

Well the wind was up and the heat down and the birds were pouring in as i was setting up the magnet .

The first 2 birds in before id made it back to my chair both fell for a double and it didnt stop at all .ive never seen birds so suicidal. Some my mate missed flew back round to be killed by me .

In the first 5 minutes id had 10 birds .

We finished on 39 for less than 2 hours .

It would have been more but my mate missed more than he should .

I was on fire connecting with birds way out .

Im buzzing as ive never seen pigeon that keen and decoy so well .

Farmer was well pleased as he had seen flocks of 200 on that field earlier today .

The block of laid barley I shot last Saturday (154) was still heaving with birds today and have been there all week (Dad's been looking daily)...we planned to hit it again tomorrow but two beaters from the estate were in situ today popping away, sadly! They weren't hitting much but getting plenty of sport when I stopped to look on the way home at 18:00.

I think they'll continue to use the field, early laid barley always seems to draw big numbers and as Motty says if on seperate hides achievable.

They love some barley Dave, two years a go we shot a similar field one afternoon and took 138. We finished picking up at 6pm, the farmer went to spray the off at 7pm and said there was 2-300 birds there. We took over 400 birds off that field over a few sessions and still they came!

Sounds great that elvis. I would rather do that than shoot 100 hovering over a blow hole.
