Archie-fox
I found nationwide had the best quote for me but I've got my mortgage with them so they did me a deal.. As said above have a hunt around on line
four-wheel-drive
Go on to a price comparison site never just renew every year as they will rip you off for shore once you have found a few that you like the look of phone them up and ask them what is coverd and what is not and can you add more ie guns bikes etc if you choose to. You didn't notice £900 a year out of your bank account? Or you just didn't shop around and accepted their quote?
Grazy
Aviva or legal and general are both good and very reasonable. Edited June 25, 2017 by Grazy
AVB
I did a multi car policy with Admiral and they also did me a cracking deal on house insurance as well.
mel b3
You didn't notice £900 a year out of your bank account? Or you just didn't shop around and accepted their quote? i just never questioned the fact , that because i was loyal to them , they werent being loyal to me . id been banking with them for 20+ years , and assumed that i was getting the best deal that they could offer me . in short , i trusted them to look after me and they xxxxxx me , and they had been xxxxxxx me for about ten years. i was also with direct line for my car insurance , until i realised that they were charging me 300%-400% over the odds, and again , had been doing so for years. i didnt shop around as i didnt think that i needed to , and i didnt notice the money going from my account as ive always had more than enough(you only really notice it when youre skint, and i havent been skint for many years). im a little bit older than you lloyd , and i come from a time when customer loyalty was appreciated and repayed , i was naive and didnt realise that most people or companies that i come across these days , will do their level best to screw me for every penny that they can , they have no shame or integrity , and will treat me as a fox will treat a chicken . as time goes by , im realising that i need to be more like a fox and less like a chicken. Gu5
Lloyds really spot on when I had two really big claims in 13 months - really easy to deal with and very efficient.
Grazy
£900 is insane. For comparison, I pay under £300 with Legal&General to insure a 3 bed semi for £700k with £150k contents plus separate itemisation for watches, guns, bikes, home emergency response and laptops/ iPhones/iPad cover Also, just had a claim with them which was resolved quickly and I had the cheque within a week. four-wheel-drive
When it comes down to money they are all the same they do not care two hoots about you you are just another customer to be taken advantage of if you are not smart enough to let them take your money the only way is to do a comparison every year. cragman
I've just renewed mine with Churchill, only went up 4£ for the year. Last year they wanted nearly double so I did a comparison check and got it down to almost what it was, with....Churchill! So I cancelled my previous policy and took out a new one. Grazy
Bloody hell. I would have thought you'd have a miss selling claim with the insurance ombudsman, My father was like this and I spent one weekend going through all insurances, utilities , Sky etc and saved him over £1800. He now, like me reviews all policies annually.

Wb123
The post office seem to usually be cheapest for me. Low value contents only though, about £80 a year, they seem to knock off £50 for having the gun safe.
Loki
Hi I would recommend perusing Martin Lewis Money Svings Expert's web-page - he sumarises the important bit you need to think about before using a comparision websites. Sure it is a PITA but time well spent, if I may say so, as sves a good sum on car and house insurance each year. L
billytheghillie
if your aged try Saga.
fortune
+1 for Saga. I had been with NFU for several years and the premium had big jumps every year. I contacted quite a few and when I mentioned guns they wouldn't quote. No problems with Saga. I got better cover for around £400 less!!! The NFU rep was a bit miffed when he was advised that I wouldn't be re insuring with them and that they were a load of rip off merchants. Saga are easy to deal with. Based in Folkstone. Renewal was £10 more than previous year.
Twistedsanity
We pay about £150 a year for home insurance, the post office usually do a gaurantee to beat your quote or we give you £50 but we have never claimed
Salopian
Looking to insure House + Contents + Guns and to insure guns whilst away from home (expensive guns). Looked at Saga , but it is a bit of a minefield to get comprehensive , no catch , cover .
