T50 Torches For People Spotting

Hi folks, I'm after a little advice if possible, I need a small, relatively high powered torch for out to 250m and I'd like to know if a T50 torch will fit the bill. I'm a member of a mountain rescue team and due to my location, get quite a few shouts on a Saturday night to sweep up lost walkers on a nearby hill. As I'm using my own personal kit for this I'm looking for something as light and compact as possible without breaking the bank. I'm currently using my crelant lamping torch but it's quite big and I really need something dedicated to my grab bag. I have a green T20 for lamping and am impressed with it but have no experience of the T50s so I'd prefer to hear from any of you who use them before I spend on one. Also, if you know of a decent alternative, I'd be happy to hear too.

Thanks

The T50 will suit your needs. I have used one for a few years. Also, take a look at the EVO range of torches (the torch factory) as these can be fitted with interchangeable heads. I have an EVO 67 which is very powerful. The torch is heavier though, so perhaps the T50 would be better for you.

I would have thought that a Thermal spotter would be of more use. A small torch is handy so the lost people will know that they have been spotted.

Hi dougy, we have all that covered, the thermal spotter is attached to an S92 helicopter :) I just need a decent small torch for a quick nip out from home to find the odd lost soul.
