Hide Nets and pigeon heads

Hi All,

As my previous post I have recently acquired a load of decoying kit and have been practicing setting it up to try and make sense of what I have . I have rewired the magnet and got it going much to the amusement of my wife who just shakes her head sadly as I watch it going round in the garden !

My next question is about the nets. I think I have a clearview and a stealth net similar to ones sold by A1 decoys I assume that they are designed to be used together with the clearview behind the stealth ? Or , as they are different colours ,are they supposed be changed round according to the background ?

Also they don't appear to have any loops to fix them to the poles , do you usually just buy a length of net and add the loops yourself ?

I also have a couple of decoys for the magnet which I think are Sillosocks, they have a foam body and wings which need a carbon fibre rod threaded through them. They also have detachable heads which don't seem to have any way of fixing them other than just pushing them on . Is this how they are supposed to be or do people modify them with a little screw or something to hold them on ?

Hopefully not too many more silly questions to follow ,I think I am getting there now with some days planned on my syndicate shoot as harvest approaches and a couple of guided days in Suffolk .I hope to be posting about pigeons shot soon.

Cheers.

The heads fix on with a long wood screw from below, mine have a cross head design.

The nets are normally used to complement each other, I used to use a clear view for the top 10 inches of the front of my hide to allow a better view.

I now use a combination of ghost net and some army scrim fixed to fishing landing net material.

The loops are useful and my ghost net has them top and bottom every metre. But you can buy some cheap plastic grips in the pound shop that secure the net to the poles.
